My mission is to serve you and your family. I am committed to serve as your familys CFO (Chief Financial Officer) and guide you through both ordinary and unforeseen events of life. I develop long term relationships with my clients and their families, and strive to always provide them with the best possible service and advice.
At Milestone Money, my clients are my only priority, and I invest considerable time in all of my relationships to make sure each client gets exactly what they need. I invite you to schedule some time with me to see how I might be able to help you.
Prior to founding Milestone Money, I was the Owner and Managing Member of Nestegg Advisory, an independent wealth management firm that I started in 2012. Prior to that, I was a Vice President in the Private Bank at J.P.Morgan, and worked exclusively with High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth clients.
I hold the FINRA Series 66 securities license registration, and previously held the FINRA Series 7 registration. I relinquished the Series 7 designation in 2014 to reaffirm my role as a fiduciary advisor to clients.
One of my passions is continuing education. In 2023, I earned the Retirement Management Advisor designation from the Investments & Wealth Institute to provide customized retirement income plans and services to retirees and people about to retire. In the same year, I also earned the Certified Exit Planning Advisor designation from the Exit Planning Institute to help small business owners plan for financially sound future after the sell the business. In 2020, I earned the Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor designation from the College of Financial Planning designation, which helped me focus on the needs of pre-retirees and clients who have already retired. I earned the Accredited Investment Fiduciary Certification in 2017. I also obtained a Certificate of Completion from Northwestern Universitys Certified Financial Planner Education Program in 2006.
Away from work, I enjoy travel, media, sports and music. I enjoy coaching youth sports, I am actively involved in Cub Scouts, and live in Chicago with my wife and two children.
Retirement today is no longer an ending point, but rather a launching point. The reality is we are working much longer, living much longer, and gaining more sophisticated financial challenges along the way. At Milestone Money, we help clients adopt a more modern perspective to imagine a time where there is a lifecycle to retirement that includes three distinct phases, each with its own set of concerns and considerations.

Financial Planning for Individuals
We provide comprehensive planning that addresses six key financial areas that if left unchecked can derail our clients financial wellbeing. While long term planning is important, we strive to help clients focus on things they can control in the current year that will help manage their spending and improve the financial condition now and in the future. |
Portfolio Management
We include portfolio management in our definition of investment management. |
Retirement Planning
We specialize in retirement management, which is the process of thoughtfully using your hard-earned assets to provide a reliable, tax smart spending plan during your retirement years. Retirement is challenging but adopting a flexible approach to spending can help improve your odds of not running out of money, living your wealth to its fullest and still providing a legacy for your family or charitable interests. |
Insurance Planning
Risk management (insurance) in one of 6 important aspects of every financial plan. Part of what we do is help clients quantify their financial risks, and provide ideas on how to best mitigate those risks with insurance. We do not sell insurance, nor are we licensed to sell insurance. |
Annuities
We dont sell annuities, but we believe that annuities can be a good fit for some clients. |
Estate Planning & Trusts
Making an Estate Plan is a sincere act of love and care for your family. Estate Planning provides peace of mind for everyone, regardless of net worth. If you are like 72% of Americans who dont have a current will or estate plan, now is the time to start putting one in place. We proactively review our clients Estate Plans to make sure they are up to date. |
Tax Advice and Services
We do not engage in tax advice. Thats what accountants do. We do analyze our clients tax returns to look for opportunities to reduce or minimize their taxes on an ongoing basis. |
Education Funding and Planning
We believe education is a core value that most families appreciate and strive to provide for their children and grandchildren. We also believe that utilizing 529 accounts is a fantastic way to pay for the cost of education. We work closely with our clients to address these goals and needs, as they are a part of their comprehensive planning process. |
Investment Advice & Management
We believe in an Investment Philosophy that adheres to a set of core principles designed to steer our clients towards a worry-free retirement. We implement solutions by crafting portfolios rooted in academic research, not Wall Street sector bets or tactical shifts that strive to outperform the market. This approach allows us build investment solutions that are tailored to individual considerations, needs and goals. |
